VL 456 Chef de Gare M. Edward Miller presenting Trooper
Matthew Newman the Voiture Locale Officer of the Year Award.
Trooper Newman is assigned to the Leonardtown Barracks, Maryland State
Police. He was selected due to his devotion to duty, the community, and state of Maryland. Trooper Newman is directly
responsible for making the highways of Southern Maryland safe for all drivers. His diligence has resulted in several
citations being issued to drivers exceeding the posted speed limits. This, along with several other actions, has directly
reduced traffic accidents and allowing all citizens to enjoy the pleasure of driving.
The award was presented at the regular promenade of VL 456 on June 17,
2004.
